SharePoint is where your team's sites, policies, and shared documents live. Once you connect it, your assistants can find the right site, search every document library you can open, and read the files they need, with a link to each one in the answer. Ask them to save something and they find the library folder you mean and save a new file there once you approve.
Press Sign in with Microsoft and sign in with your work or school account. Personal Microsoft accounts have no SharePoint.
Microsoft asks you to let StellarFirm read items in all site collections and have full access to all files you have access to. Press Accept. The second one is the only permission Microsoft offers for saving into a library folder, so it reads broader than what StellarFirm does: your assistants read files, and save a new file only after your Approve. Sites themselves are read only.
You come back to the SharePoint page, which now says Connected.
Ask in chat: "find the travel policy on our HR site and tell me the hotel limit".
Many organizations let only an administrator approve apps that read SharePoint. If Microsoft says Need admin approval, send the request it offers, or send your Microsoft 365 administrator the steps in For IT administrators. Once approved, sign in again.
Ask in chat: "save this as a Word document in the Policies folder on our HR site".
The assistant looks for folders with that name across your sites. When more than one fits, or none does, it asks you which one, with each folder's full path.
It writes the file and asks to save it. On Approvals you see the file's name, its kind, and the folder's full path. Nothing is saved before you press Approve.
Once approved, the file is saved and the assistant answers with its link.
A document is saved as a real Word file, a spreadsheet as CSV. When a file with the same name is already there, SharePoint keeps both and gives the new one a number. The library's own permissions apply: if your account may only read that folder, nothing is saved and the assistant tells you.
In the Microsoft Entra admin center, register an app with the delegated permissions Files.Read.All, Sites.Read.All, and offline_access, and create a client secret. The desktop app reads with it; saving to SharePoint from chat is on stellarfirm.ai for now.
Sign in once with that app to get a refresh token.
On the computer that runs your assistants, set MICROSOFT_CLIENT_ID, MICROSOFT_CLIENT_SECRET, MICROSOFT_TENANT_ID, and SHAREPOINT_REFRESH_TOKEN.
Switch SharePoint on and to live in the assistants' configuration.
