Google Maps

Coming soon

Let Marketing, Sales, and the Executive assistant look up places near a home, travel times, and the weather through Google Maps. Read only. Coming soon.

Google Maps knows what is around an address and how long it takes to get there. Once you connect it, Marketing can describe the area around a listing from real places, Sales can answer "how far is the nearest school?", and the Executive assistant can put a round of viewings in the order that keeps driving short.

What assistants can do#

Google Maps connects through Google's own hosted connector, and it is read only.

AbilityHow it runs
Find places near an addressReads on its own
Read travel times and routesReads on its own
Read the weather for a placeReads on its own

Every answer that uses Google Maps shows the Google Maps links it came from, right under the text they support. Your assistants do not keep places or routes in notes or memory.

Setup (when it opens)#

  1. In the Google Cloud console, pick a project with billing on and enable the Maps Grounding Lite API.
  2. Under APIs & Services, then Credentials, create a key and restrict it to the Maps Grounding Lite API. Google bills the calls to that project.
  3. Open Integrations in StellarFirm and pick Google Maps.
  4. Paste the key, switch on the live option, and press Connect.

Permissions#

  • Nothing here waits for an Approve because nothing here changes data.
  • Delete or restrict the key in the Google Cloud console whenever you want to cut access.

Prompts to try#

PromptAround the listing

Marketing, find the schools, shops, parks, and the nearest metro within a 10 minute walk of [address], and write two sentences about the area for the listing. Keep the Google Maps links.

PromptViewing round

Executive assistant, for next Tuesday's viewings, read the travel time between each pair of homes and suggest the order that keeps driving shortest, with the Google Maps links.
