Mechanical engineering
Your next part, calculated and scripted
You lead the design, so you're the CEO. StellarFirm gives you AI Agents, Agentic Assistants for your work. The Coder writes a part as a parametric CadQuery script, runs it on its own computer, and hands back the script with STEP and STL files you open in your own CAD tool. The Scientist assistant writes design calculations with units and stated safety factors, turns needs into measurable requirements, compares options in a trade study, and reviews how a design can fail. Nothing here is a drawing for manufacture until a qualified engineer has checked it. You give the final go.
Your first three steps
3 steps
- 01The part, the load, and the requirements
- 02The calculations and scripts that repeat
- 03Where a qualified engineer checks the result
Anything that sends or publishes waits for your Approve.
The Coder scripts the part. The Scientist assistant checks the numbers. Files, mail, and anything that leaves wait for your Approve.
How it works
From a goal to a result.
- 01
Set a goal
You say what done looks like: a ticket, a client, a deadline, or a draft.
- 02
The team works
The assistants take the goal, use the ready prompts and skills, and draft the work in the tools you connected.
- 03
You approve the risky step
Anything that sends, publishes, ships, or charges waits for your Approve. You are the CEO.
- 04
You get the result
A parametric script with its STEP and STL files, a calculation with units, or a design review, each ready for a qualified engineer and your final go.
The team
You, and the assistants.
You, the CEO
You set the requirements and give the final go on every file, message, and design decision that leaves the desk.
Coder
Writes parametric CadQuery scripts with every dimension as a named parameter, runs them on its own computer and exports STEP and STL files, shares OpenSCAD scripts without claiming to have run them, and keeps the bill of materials as a table.
Scientist assistant
Writes design calculations with units and safety factors, states requirements as measurable statements, compares options in a trade study, and reviews failure modes. Every value comes from a standard or datasheet you give.
Integrations

Built in
What your assistants can use.
Its own computer
Each assistant works on its own computer in StellarFirm cloud, with the tools its job needs, and hands the files back to you.
Pages and documents beside the chat
A page, chart, table, document or picture an assistant makes opens beside the chat, so you read it before anything ships.
Long jobs in the background
A big job runs in the background in pieces and streams back as it goes. It only starts when you press Start.
LaTeX documents you can edit
A paper or lesson sheet in LaTeX opens beside the chat with a preview, and you can edit the source and save a new version.
Research tools
Web, news and scholar searches, scholarly works, video transcripts and market prices, each call paid in credits.
Keep going until it is done
Say what done looks like and the Coder keeps working, up to ten rounds, until the goal is met. /stop ends it.
Ready to use
Prompts and skills.
Skills
- Clarify requirements
- Make a design decision
- Reproducible analysis
- Research brief
- Write tests
Ready prompts
- Write a parametric bracket as a CadQuery script, with the hole spacing and the thickness as parameters, and export the STEP file.
- Size this shaft for the load I give you and state the safety factor and every assumption.
- Run a failure modes review of this design and rank what to check first.
