The basics#
What is StellarFirm?#
StellarFirm is your company of AI assistants. You are the CEO: you give goals in chat, the right assistant does the work in its own private workspace, and anything risky waits for your Approve. Start with the Getting started section.
Who is it for?#
People who have more work than hands and are comfortable handing it over with clear goals: solo founders, small teams, and agencies. Right now the strongest fit is anyone with code to write, fix, or review, because the Coder is the assistant available today.
Is it available now?#
Yes, for invited accounts. Self-service sign-up is not open yet, so you join the waitlist on the home page and wait for an invitation. See Sign in.
Which assistants work today?#
Only the Coder. Product owner, Marketing, Accountant, and Legal are Coming soon. You can run several Coders at the same time.
What can the Coder do?#
It turns a goal into code: it reads your repository, makes a change in its own workspace, runs the tests, and opens a pull request after your Approve. It can also review pull requests and look into bugs. See Your first goal.
Do I need to install anything?#
No. StellarFirm runs in your browser at stellarfirm.ai/app, and the assistants work in workspaces StellarFirm runs for you. A desktop app is also available if you prefer it.
Control and approvals#
Does it merge or ship on its own?#
That depends on your house rules: the rules in your company brief plus what you allow without asking in Settings. By default the first outcome is a pull request, as a draft, waiting for your review. The Coder can open a pull request for review, or ship when your house rules allow it. Your house rules pick one of three merge policies: review only (the default), merge after CEO approval, or auto merge on green. Shipping to production is a separate rule on that same page. See merge policy.
What needs my approval?#
Anything that sends, deploys, charges, publishes, or creates: opening a pull request, pushing a branch, opening an issue, sending mail, creating an event, charging a customer. Reading, searching, drafts, and reviews do not. See Approvals.
Can I turn approvals off?#
Not for everything. Auto-approve is a switch in Settings for production actions and deletions, and it is off until you turn it on. Steps that reach other people, such as pull requests, always ask today.
Can I undo something?#
Nothing leaves your company until you approve it, and Reject cancels a step. After an approval, a pull request can be closed or its branch deleted in your source control service, and merged changes can be reverted there with its usual tools. Ask the Coder in chat to prepare the revert as a pull request.
Can I stop an assistant that is working?#
You are always in control of the risky part: reject any step that is waiting and it is cancelled. Nothing that sends, deploys, charges, publishes, or creates runs without your Approve. See Approvals and control.
How does a message find the right assistant?#
Name the assistant at the start of the message to send it straight there. Otherwise the CEO assistant matches the message to the right one, and asks you if it is not sure. See Routing.
Workspaces and files#
Where does the work happen?#
In each assistant's own private workspace, a computer of its own. You can watch it on the Computer screen. With the desktop app you can also choose to keep the work on your own computer.
Do files persist?#
Yes. An assistant's workspace keeps its files between visits, so it can pick up where it left off.
What happens when a workspace is idle?#
It goes to sleep and wakes up on the next request, keeping its files. You do not have to do anything.
Can other people see my workspace?#
No. Each workspace is private and kept apart from every other. See Security.
Integrations#
Which integrations work today?#
GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket, so the Coder can read your repository and open pull requests. Everything else, such as Slack, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Linear, is Coming soon. See Integrations.
What happens to my access token?#
You create it on the service, paste it into StellarFirm, and it is stored with your workspace. It is never shown back to you. See Security.
Credits and usage#
What are credits?#
Credits are what assistants spend when they work. New accounts start with free credits. See How credits work.
What happens when credits run out?#
Work stops cleanly and asks you what to do. It does not carry on without you.
Where can I see what was used?#
On the Usage screen. See Usage.
Privacy and security#
What does StellarFirm keep?#
Your account, your settings, and the work your assistants do, so the product can run. Conversation text and model call analytics each have a switch in Settings, and you can see, edit, and delete what your assistants remember. See Privacy and the Privacy Policy.
Can I see and delete what the assistants remember?#
Yes. Open Settings and go to Memory. Each item can be edited or removed on its own, and you can remove all of it.
Is every page behind sign-in?#
Yes. Every page of the app needs a signed-in account.
How do I report a security problem?#
Write to us through the Support page and say what you found. Do not include tokens or passwords.
Teams, devices, and language#
Can my team use it?#
Team invites are Coming soon. Today one person, the CEO, signs in and approves.
Is there a phone app?#
Phone app access is Coming soon.
Is there a desktop app?#
Yes. It shows the same screens as the web app, with the same account. See Getting started.
What languages does it speak?#
English only for now.
Help#
How do I get help?#
Go to the Support page. Say what you tried, what you expected, and what happened. A screenshot helps. Never send a token or a password.
