Notion
Coming soon
Let your assistants search your Notion pages and databases and read what they find. Read only, through Notion's own hosted connector. Coming soon.
On this page
Notion is where many teams keep specs, notes, and wikis. Once you connect it, your assistants can search those pages and read them while they work, so a request such as "implement the spec" starts from the real document.
Which assistants use it#
| Assistant | Status |
|---|---|
| Coder | Available |
| Product owner | Coming soon |
| Marketing | Coming soon |
| Legal | Coming soon |
The Coder is the only persona available today. The others are Coming soon.
What assistants can do#
Notion connects through the tool's own hosted connector, and it is read only.
| Ability | How it runs |
|---|---|
| Search pages and databases | Reads on its own |
| Read page content | Reads on its own |
| Anything that would change a page or database | Never run from chat |
Setup (when it opens)#
- In Notion, create an internal integration from your profile's integrations page.
- Share the pages and databases you want the assistants to read with that integration. It can only see what you share.
- Copy the integration's token.
- Open Integrations in StellarFirm and pick Notion.
- Paste the token, switch on the live option, and press Connect.
Permissions#
- Assistants read only the pages you shared with the integration.
- Nothing here waits for an Approve because nothing here changes data. Edits are never run from chat.
- You stay in control in Notion: stop sharing a page and the assistants lose it at once.
Good to know#
- Name the page or topic in your message. A message that mentions Notion triggers a search, and the assistant reads the best match.
- During a coding session the Coder gets read-only access to the connected workspace, so it can check the spec while it works.
- Share a small, tidy set of pages first. Searches are sharper when the integration sees only what matters.
Prompts to try#
PromptBuild from a spec Coder, read the spec page for [feature] in Notion, then implement it and open a pull request for review. Wait for my Approve before you push.
PromptFind a decision Search Notion for what we decided about [topic] and summarise it in five lines.
PromptCheck a runbook Coder, find the deploy runbook in Notion and tell me which steps are out of date compared with how our repository works now. Read only.
