SendGrid is a service for sending email at scale. Once you connect it, your assistants can review what you sent recently and draft the next campaign. Sending is always your decision.

Which assistants use it#

AssistantStatus
MarketingComing soon

Marketing is the persona that works with campaigns, and it is Coming soon along with the other personas beyond the Coder. The CEO assistant can see the connection too, so it knows where to send a campaign request.

What assistants can do#

AbilityHow it runs
List your recent sendsReads on its own
Draft a campaign and show you the recipientsReads on its own (nothing is sent)
Send a campaignWaits for your Approve

Setup (when it opens)#

  1. In SendGrid, open the settings page for tokens and create a sending token. Give it permission to send mail and to read your send history, and nothing more.
  2. Open Integrations in StellarFirm.
  3. Pick SendGrid.
  4. Paste the sending token.
  5. Press Connect.

SendGrid shows a new token only once, so copy it before you leave its page.

Permissions#

  • Listing sends and drafting campaigns reads on its own. A draft sends nothing.
  • A send always waits for your Approve. Sending also stays off until you allow it, so a fresh connection cannot send by accident.
  • The approvals page explains where the request appears and how to answer it.

Good to know#

  • Scope the token to the least it needs. If something looks wrong, delete the token in SendGrid and the connection stops working at once.
  • Only connect one sending service unless you really use both. Resend does the same job.
  • Ask for the recipient list and the full text in the same message as the draft, so you review everything in one place.

Prompts to try#

PromptDraft a newsletter

Marketing, draft this month's newsletter about [topic] and show me the recipients and the full text. Do not send until I Approve.

PromptSummarise recent sends

Marketing, list our recent sends and tell me what we have been talking about too often. Read only.

PromptPrepare a re-engagement email

Marketing, draft a short email for customers who have not opened anything from us lately. Show me the recipients first and wait for my Approve.
