# Your next part, calculated and scripted

> A mechanical design desk where the Coder scripts parametric parts and the bill of materials, and the Scientist assistant checks the calculation, the units, and how the design can fail. A qualified engineer checks every result.

You lead the design, so you're the CEO. StellarFirm gives you AI Agents, Agentic Assistants for your work. The Coder writes a part as a parametric CadQuery script, runs it on its own computer, and hands back the script with STEP and STL files you open in your own CAD tool. The Scientist assistant writes design calculations with units and stated safety factors, turns needs into measurable requirements, compares options in a trade study, and reviews how a design can fail. Nothing here is a drawing for manufacture until a qualified engineer has checked it. You give the final go.

## How it works

1. **Set a goal.** You say what done looks like: a ticket, a client, a deadline, or a draft.
2. **The team works.** The assistants take the goal, use the ready prompts and skills, and draft the work in the tools you connected.
3. **You approve the risky step.** Anything that sends, publishes, ships, or charges waits for your Approve. You are the CEO.
4. **You get the result.** A parametric script with its STEP and STL files, a calculation with units, or a design review, each ready for a qualified engineer and your final go.

## The team

- **You, the CEO.** You set the requirements and give the final go on every file, message, and design decision that leaves the desk.
- **Coder.** Writes parametric CadQuery scripts with every dimension as a named parameter, runs them on its own computer and exports STEP and STL files, shares OpenSCAD scripts without claiming to have run them, and keeps the bill of materials as a table.
- **Scientist assistant.** Writes design calculations with units and safety factors, states requirements as measurable statements, compares options in a trade study, and reviews failure modes. Every value comes from a standard or datasheet you give.

## Ready prompts

- Write a parametric bracket as a CadQuery script, with the hole spacing and the thickness as parameters, and export the STEP file.
- Size this shaft for the load I give you and state the safety factor and every assumption.
- Run a failure modes review of this design and rank what to check first.

## Skills

- Clarify requirements
- Make a design decision
- Reproducible analysis
- Research brief
- Write tests

## Questions

### Does it work inside SolidWorks or Fusion?

No. The Coder writes the part as a CadQuery script, runs it on its own computer, and exports STEP and STL files. Open those in the CAD or slicer tool you already use. There is no built in 3D viewer for the files yet.

### Does it run OpenSCAD?

It writes OpenSCAD scripts and hands them to you to run. It only says a script ran when it did, and the CadQuery scripts are the ones it runs and exports.

### Can I trust the calculation?

Treat it as a worked draft. Each calculation carries its units, its assumptions, its safety factor, and the standard or datasheet every value came from, so a qualified engineer can check it line by line. It never signs off a design.

### What about the bill of materials?

The Coder keeps it as a table with quantities and sources, for you to read before anything is sent.

### How do I start?

Join the waitlist, name your desk, and describe the part and its loads. The prompts and skills are ready.
