# YouTube

> Let Marketing read how your videos are doing and upload finished videos to your channel. Uploading waits for your Approve. Coming soon.

Status: Coming soon

YouTube is where your long videos and Shorts live. Once you connect your channel, Marketing can read your uploads and their numbers, and upload a finished video with its title, description, tags, and thumbnail.

> [!SOON]
> The YouTube integration is Coming soon. This page describes how it will work. The integrations open at launch are GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket.

## Which assistants use it

| Assistant | Status |
| --- | --- |
| [Marketing](/docs/personas/marketing) | Coming soon |

## What assistants can do

| Ability | How it runs |
| --- | --- |
| Read your channel's videos with their views, likes, and comments | Reads on its own |
| Upload a finished video with its title, description, tags, and thumbnail | Waits for your Approve |
| Delete or take down a video | Never offered |

## Setup (when it opens)

1. In Google Cloud, create a project, turn on the YouTube Data API v3, and create a sign-in client for it. Publish the consent screen: while it is in testing, Google ends the sign-in after seven days.
2. Sign in once as the channel owner with the `youtube.upload` and `youtube.readonly` scopes and keep the refresh token.
3. Open [Integrations](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/integrations) and pick **YouTube**.
4. Paste the client ID, the client secret, and the refresh token, switch on the live option, and press **Connect**.

## Permissions

- **Read** your channel, so Marketing can list your videos and how they did.
- **Upload** videos, so Marketing can publish a finished one after you approve.

## Good to know

- A new upload stays **private** unless you ask for unlisted or public, and the Approve card says where, at what privacy, with which title, and which file.
- Until Google audits your project for the YouTube API, YouTube keeps every upload private. Request the audit before you publish in public.
- The video must be at an https link, such as the download link a studio like [Higgsfield](/docs/integrations/higgsfield) or [HeyGen](/docs/integrations/heygen) gives you. A video made with AI is labelled as altered or synthetic content when you say so.
- YouTube limits how many videos one project uploads a day. If you reach it, Marketing tells you and you try again tomorrow.
- Your sign-in stays with your StellarFirm workspace and is never shown back to you. The page shows only that it is connected.

## Prompts to try

```prompt title="What worked"
Marketing, list my last ten YouTube videos with their views and tell me which titles and thumbnails worked best.
```

```prompt title="Upload a Short"
Marketing, upload this video to YouTube as an unlisted Short titled [title], with a description and three tags: [link]. Wait for my Approve.
```
