Status: Coming soon

Telegram is a second way to reach your assistants: short messages from your phone, with plain-text replies. It suits quick questions and nudges rather than long work.

> Telegram is Coming soon. Chat in the StellarFirm app at [stellarfirm.ai/app](https://stellarfirm.ai/app) works today.

## What assistants can do

| Ability | How it runs |
| --- | --- |
| Receive your messages | Reads on its own |
| Send plain-text replies | Reads on its own |

## Setup (when it opens)

1. In Telegram, use Telegram's own app-creation flow to make a new app for your assistants, and copy the token it gives you.
2. Find your numeric Telegram user id, so only you can message your assistants.
3. Open [Integrations](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/integrations) and pick **Telegram**, paste the token and your user id, and press **Connect**.

## Permissions

Telegram tokens have no scopes to pick. The token lets your StellarFirm workspace:

- **Receive** messages sent to the app.
- **Send** replies from it.

Only the user ids you list are answered. A message from anyone else is ignored.

## Good to know

- Approve and Reject buttons are in Slack, not Telegram. Until Slack opens, approve on the [Approvals page](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/approvals).
- Replies are plain text, with no formatting or attachments.
- Your token stays with your StellarFirm workspace and is never shown back to you. The page shows only that it is connected.
- Treat the token like a password. If it leaks, create a new one in Telegram and paste it again.

## Prompts

```prompt title="Quick question"
Coder, what is the state of [repository] right now? Reply in two sentences.
```

```prompt title="Nudge"
Coder, how is [task] going? Tell me what is done and what is left.
```
