# Instagram

> Let Marketing read your posts and publish finished videos as Reels. Publishing waits for your Approve. Coming soon.

Status: Coming soon

Instagram is where your Reels and posts reach your followers. Once you connect your professional account, Marketing can read your posts and how they did, and publish a finished video as a Reel with its caption and cover.

> The Instagram integration is Coming soon. This page describes how it will work. The integrations open at launch are GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket.

## Which assistants use it

| Assistant | Status |
| --- | --- |
| [Marketing](/docs/personas/marketing) | Coming soon |

## What assistants can do

| Ability | How it runs |
| --- | --- |
| Read your posts with their likes and comments | Reads on its own |
| Publish a finished video as a Reel with its caption and cover | Waits for your Approve |
| Delete or hide a post | Never offered |

## Setup (when it opens)

1. Switch your Instagram account to a professional account (Business or Creator).
2. In Meta for Developers, create an app with **Instagram API with Instagram Login** and the `instagram_business_basic` and `instagram_business_content_publish` permissions.
3. Generate a long-lived access token for your account.
4. Open [Integrations](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/integrations), pick **Instagram**, paste the token, switch on the live option, and press **Connect**.

## Permissions

- **Read** your profile and posts, so Marketing can see what worked.
- **Publish** content, so Marketing can post a Reel after you approve.

## Good to know

- Instagram posts are always public, so every Reel waits for your Approve, and the card shows the caption and the file.
- Instagram fetches the video from its link, so the file must be at a public https address. A studio's download link works.
- Reels are vertical (9:16) videos between 3 seconds and 15 minutes long.
- The access token lasts 60 days. StellarFirm renews it while it is in use; if it lapses, create a new one and paste it again.
- Instagram limits how many posts an account publishes a day. If you reach it, Marketing tells you instead of trying again.

## Prompts to try

```prompt title="Reel review"
Marketing, show me my last Instagram Reels and how they did, then draft captions for the next three.
```

```prompt title="Publish a Reel"
Marketing, publish this video as a Reel with the caption we agreed on: [link]. Wait for my Approve.
```
